Caine's Arcade

When The Blog was about 7 years old, he had a sweatshirt that bore the above image. In the 46 years that have passed since then, this has been one of The Blogs main philosophies of life.

But, now and then, The Blog comes across something that makes him think that there is still hope for "people."

First, a little bit of background about the source...

BoingBoing.net grew out of small, self published "zine" (remember zines?) about 15-20 years ago. They covered comic books, Sci-Fi, technology, conspiracy theories, politics, and anything else that they felt like throwing in. The founding publishers were The Blog's very dear friend, '90s porn star Christy Canyon's, sister and brother-in-law. Christy batted her eyes and flashed some tit at The Blog and convinced him to buy a year's subscription. $12 for 12 issues, if I remember correctly. After a couple of issues, I was hooked! I re-upped my subscription every year until the paper and ink version ceased publication. After that, BoingBoing grew to be one of the internet's most successful geek oriented web sites.

The video posted yesterday on BoingBoing's site is the sort of thing that makes this jaded old fool cry like a baby and think that we (and by "we" I mean, humanity) might just be okay, after all!

Caine's Arcade

If you live in the Los Angeles area, take a Saturday to find this kid! I plan to!
